Laminated Safety Glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered.
In the event of breaking, it is held in place by a powerful adhesive, or interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or Ethylene vinyl acetate films (EVA), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking into large razor sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely penetrate the glass. Laminated glass is normally used when there is a possibility of human impact or where the glass could fall if shattered. Skylight glazing and automobile windshields typically use laminated glass.
Several elements are involved in curved glass manufacturing. The following recommendations provide general guidelines.

Size Limitations:
- Maximum Size: Arc Length: 108”, Height: 150”
- Minimum Radius: 6”
We laminate using these sizes as an inner layer for the laminated glass .030, .060,and .090.
- .030 is used for all general laminated applications.
- .060 is used for security purposes as it will make a break in more difficult.
- .090 is used for all impact applications where hurricane safety or ballistic impact is an issue.
Curved Glass Creations can laminate in overall thicknesses as follows. 1/4”, 3/8” 1/2” 5/8”, 3/4”, and 1”. Superior Laminated Safety Glass is ideal for curved handrails, spiral staircases, curtain wall, windows, skylights, boat windshields and other applications.
